It is an electronic application management system, mainly build to reduce backlogs and improve the processing time by streamlining the entire process. It is a process for expanding the economic classes to include categories such as the skilled workers, skilled trades’ workers and increasing francophone immigration. The basis of selecting foreign nationals as members of the economic class is their ability to become economically established in Canada.

Federal Skilled Workers - are people with suitable education, work experience, age and language abilities under one of Canada's official languages and who are selected under the Express Entry Immigration system to apply for permanent residence and also who can contribute to the Canadian economy.

Federal Skilled Trades - is for people who want to become permanent residents of Canada based on being qualified in a skilled trade. Have a certificate of qualification in your skilled trade issued by a province or territory.

Canadian Experience Class - allows graduates of a Canadian post secondary institution and temporary foreign workers with Canadian experience, to transition to permanent resident status.

Provincial Nominee Programs - These programs are for workers who have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory, want to live in that province, and want to become permanent residents of Canada. Each province and territory has its own “streams” (immigration programs that target certain groups) and requirements.
